Ties that Tether

All Tied Up

A short-and-sweet recap of this delightful book! The end of the school year has our family losing our marbles, so this quickie post will have to do. It doesn’t do this book justice, so keep that in mind!

Ties that Tether by Jane Igharo is next level chick lit. And I whole-heartedly urge you to get this book and read the minute it arrives!

Meaty because it deals with marrying outside one’s culture.

Sassy because our protagonist Azere is a take-no-bull darling.

Heavy enough to keep you reading until you finish the chapter (unlike some lighter books where you can put it down and pick it up while the TV’s blaring Doc McStuffins and the kiddos are chirping).

It’s based in Toronto. You know I love a book that isn’t based in NYC or London (like 95% of all books it seems).

You’ll learn something. I truly didn’t have a clue about Nigerian culture and is FASCINATING. I love books for this reason – learning through entertainment? Not much better than that!

Real-life. The author writes the feeling that we’ve all felt so beautifully that it’s sometimes easier to go it alone than fight for what your heart wants.
